Who we are
Scoremark is a UK-based online presence service for small accountancy practices. We help practices improve how they appear in Google Search, Google Maps, and AI-powered search tools.
When we refer to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean Scoremark.
What data we collect and why
Prospective clients When we research a business as a potential client, we may collect publicly available information including business name, website address, phone number, and the name of the director or owner as listed on public registers such as Companies House or professional directories. We do this to identify whether our services are likely to be of value to that business.
People who contact us If you contact us by email or through our website, we collect your name, email address, and any information you include in your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry.
Website visitors We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This may collect anonymised data including pages visited, time spent on pages, and the general location and device type of visitors. This data does not identify you personally.
Our lawful basis for processing
We process personal data on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
Legitimate interests — for outreach to prospective business clients, where we have assessed that our interest in contacting relevant businesses is not outweighed by their interests or rights
Contract — where we are delivering services to a client
Consent — where you have provided your details voluntarily and agreed to hear from us
How long we keep your data
Prospective client contact details: up to 12 months from first contact, or until you ask us to stop
Client records: 6 years from the end of the engagement, in line with standard UK business record-keeping requirements
Website analytics data: as determined by Google Analytics retention settings, typically 14 months
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We use the following tools which may process data on our behalf:
Google Analytics — website traffic analysis
Google Workspace — email and document storage
Hunter.io — email address discovery from public sources
Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policy and data processing terms.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to processing based on legitimate interests
Request that we restrict processing of your data
Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@scoremark.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
